In addition to obtaining regular weekly supplies of produce from wholesale and retail producers, we also run field gleaning sessions in which we source additional supplies of surplus food directly from the farmer’s field or orchard. Around 40% of produce grown in the UK is either surplus or it does not meet retailer standards on size or shape or is blemished, but regardless, we put it to good use.

We are actively recruiting farms who are interested in seeing their surplus crops, grown with such care, put to good use locally. Please contact us if you might have a crop surplus to offer or you are interested in volunteering. We are fully insured and have risk assessments in place for safe working even during lockdown, when the need for fresh produce by food banks and charities delivering meals to vulnerable households is particularly acute.
